English Translation:
Thank you, Dziva, Thank you, Sambiri, Custodians of the bountiful waters that flow to heal and revive the land, Keepers of the sacred, bottomless pool that the scorching sun can never dry, Who revere all scaled fish and water creatures. Thank you, Mubvumbi (The gentle, soaking drizzle), The rain that falls steadily to ensure abundant harvests, Who dwell peacefully along the fertile banks of mighty rivers, Harboring no malice against anyone on earth, Whose hearts are cool and tranquil like an alpine spring. Praise to you along the Zambezi and Lake Kariba, Lords of the river crossings where all travelers pass safely, Gratitude to the clan of Mwenezi and the Save river, Children of the living water whose thirst for righteousness never ends, We thank you, Sambiri!
๐Ÿšซ Chinoera (Sacred Dietary Taboo): Freshwater fish, bream, or scaled fish.
๐Ÿ›๏ธ Dzinza neNhoroondo (Heritage & Lineage): Dziva represents water, rain, fertility, and life. Associated with sacred pools (madziva anoyera) and rainmaking rituals, the Dziva clan holds a deeply respected spiritual stewardship over natural bodies of water.
