Ndima 1
Pachivanze chakatsvairwa nemutsvairo mangwanani,
Across the courtyard swept clean at break of dawn,
Imba yekubikira yakapfurirwa neuswa inodziya.
Stands the round thatched kitchen glowing with warmth.
Pachikuva hari dzemvura dzakagara nechiremera,
Upon the earthen bench the clay pots rest with dignity,
Moto wepachoto uchibvira pakati pemapfihwa matatu!
While the hearth fire crackles between three cooking stones!
Ndima 2
PaDare vakuru vanopana mazano euchenjeri,
At the council circle elders share counsel of deep wisdom,
Hozi nedura zvizere chibage, nzungu, nezviyo.
And the raised granary overflows with maize, groundnuts, and millet.
Manheru tinoungana tichinzwa ngano dzaMbuya,
Come evening we gather round to hear Grandmother's folktales,
Musha wedu muzinda werudo nerugare nekusingaperi!
Our village home is a sanctuary of love and peace forevermore!
