Ndima 1
Tarisa rusvingo rweDzimbahwe rwakamira mudenga,
Behold the towering stone walls of Great Zimbabwe rising to the sky,
Matombo akarongwa pasina dhaka nemadzitateguru.
Granite blocks fitted without mortar by our ancient ancestors.
Mhepo nemvura zvakapfuura makore nemazana,
Winds and rains have swept past for hundreds of years,
Asi nhare yamambo yakaramba yakatsiga segomo!
Yet the royal citadel stands unshakeable as a mountain!
Ndima 2
Pamusoro perusvingo shiri yeHungwe yakarinda,
High atop the walls the sacred Hungwe bird keeps watch,
Yakavezwa mubwe nyoro serucherechedzo rwenyika.
Carved in soapstone as the timeless emblem of our nation.
Unyanzvi hwevatema hwakapenya pasi rose,
The architectural genius of our forebears shone across the world,
Zimbabwe inhaka yedu inokosha narini!
Zimbabwe is our priceless heritage forevermore!
