Father, stalwart pillar holding up our family roof,
Munomuka machongwe asati ambopedza kurira.
You wake before the village roosters have finished calling.
Mumaoko enyu mune ziya rinoshandira vana,
In your weathered palms lies the honest sweat that feeds your children,
Mumba menyu mune chivindi, kudzivirirwa, nekudziya.
Within your home we find fearless courage, protection, and warmth.
