Flow on, great Zambezi, mighty river of the north,

Mvura yako inopa hupenyu kumasango nemhuka.

Your waters give life to forests and wild herds alike.

Paunosvika pamawere unowira pasi nemabhanan'ana,

Reaching the chasm, you plunge down with a roar like thunder,

Utsi hwemvura huchikwira mudenga kunge makore!

Sending mist rising into the heavens like billowing clouds!
